Observatory | 2009-10 | Mirrors and bamboo canes

Consisting of a group of small mirrors mounted at eye height, this work refers to the way we mediate our relationship with the landscape, from the Claude glass (darkened mirror) used by 18th century seekers of the picturesque, to modern-day cameras. Created as site-specific work for '10 Artists Walk a Farm' (2009) and re-made for 'Nexus' (2010).
